May Instrumental Music News The Pullman Education Foundation/Pullman School District Instrumental Music Program Dessert/Fundraiser was a HUGE success! A very large thank you to all of the parents, administration-faculty & staff of PSD, PEF and students who helped to make this night full of wonderful treats and outstanding music an ENORMOUS success! The proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the PSD Instrumental Music Program by purchasing new instruments. We are so very fortunate to have such a supportive community and school district. The Lincoln Middle School Band Program is well-rounded and has been carefully developed and structured to benefit students in a positive manner. Participation in the bands result in more than simply learning to perform with a musical instrument. Through the study of music, students experience high levels of self-expression, creativity, discipline, cooperation and achievement. LMS Bands promote the development of skills that are necessary for success in all future endeavors. Music participation enhances and promotes respect for self and others, problem solving, teamwork, goal setting, self-expression, coordination, memory skills, self-confidence, self-esteem, concentration, commitment, and a host of other skills and attitudes that help students prepare for the world around them. This program offers opportunities for shared family experiences, including attendance at musical events, playing music together as a family, performing with family and friends, and sharing a sense of accomplishment and pride.
